Horse camp

Kaya and Adlai and their cousins spent two full days in horse camp. Kaya gained her confidence and was galloping around the ring.
It honestly warmed my heart to see my city kids picking pony poop. They wouldn't even let me help them!

These boots

For the first time ever we have real cowboy boots
Kaya climbs to the top of the wall three times. Adlai and Natasha make valiant efforts and make it to the orange ice cream cone before looking down and deciding to come down.

Uncle Ryan takes the kids on the wave rider.
 So do I.

Sylvan

The kids looked on in amusement as mommy and daddy went out for a sea doo ride with Auntie Amanda.

We also tried with varying degrees of success to wake surf. I managed a particularly spectacular wipe-out, much to the amusement of the boat full of family.

Sun kissed prairie on the way home.

Dad's cookie cake

We brought Patrick's cookie cake with nutella and smarties to celebrate at the campground.

A still pond

I love camping. I love the expanse of sky and the clean crisp air and the silence and peace of watching my family patiently sitting on the edge of a still pond.

A deserted boardwalk

Maihaa and the kids and I went for a drive and a walk through the demonstration forest.

After a picnic we decided to check out the boardwalk. It was picturesque until we saw Kona shaking her head and heard the drone of wasps. We high tailed it out of there and away from the hive.

The colours in the meadow are soft and russet tinged.

Adlai's first lost tooth

The tooth fairy visited us camping yet again. She makes frequent summer camping visits it seems. Adlai was very brave and very proud about the gap to grace his grin.
