Many waters

It was surreal to watch our city overtaken by water. With the directive to stay home, we could only watch while the rain kept coming.

A very memorable day

We started off the morning at swimming lessons in Cochrane. I walked the dog into a marathon and wandered down to the Bow River.
Then we dropped the kids off at a party at Springbank airport and rode all the scary rides at Calaway Park.

Then it was off to Upper Lake Kananaskis.

We stopped along the highway for a mug shot of the bighorn sheep. But the most exciting part of the day was our walk with friends along the path near the campground. We came upon a mama bear and her two cubs grazing in a field right next to the path. We beat a hasty retreat and it took a while to calm our racing hearts.

I always love this lone tree in the field on the way home.

A rainbow closes the day.

My three boys

We went over to Dad's for a celebration of the fact that he and his brothers were all reunited. As Grandma would, say, her three boys were together.

Bryan and Amanda brought French macaroons which the kids really enjoyed.

Spruce Meadows

Adlai does a good job of a life sized portrait.
We watch the horses jumping, learn amazing horse facts from the Uof C vet students, and talk to a cowboy about his horse who survived a cougar attack and has the scars to prove it.

Penguin walk

Adlai and I went to see the penguins go for a walk.
We also enjoyed watching the peacocks strut and call to one another.

Who knew that butterflies use gold ornamentation?

 An atlas moth emerges.
