Earliest camping trip ever

It was freakishly warm and so we decided on the spur of the moment to head out camping. On the way we passed my favourite tree. 

 We snagged prime spots in an empty campground that had just opened for the season.

The lake was very low since we had not had any rain but Patrick helped the kids cast their rods a few times. 

 Kona kept us company.

 Watching the kids play tag and play in the splash park brought joy to the heart.

 Feeding the giraffes gave new appreciation for the length and dexterity of their tongues.

No longer at the zoo, we went for a walk near the White Tank mountains. Good thing this rattlesnake was just waking up and was not interested in our legs- too close for comfort!

Kaya turns 7

 Cousins birthday party with a bug cake from Grandma Jan.

 Kaya and Adlai help decorate the vanilla butterfly cake at home.

 We have a scavenger hunt party with activities that must be completed to get the next clue. Puzzles, drawings, yoga, building and fun abound.

And our family gets to wish Kaya a Happy Birthday too.
