A decade later

Haleakala to tidal pools

 Poor Kaya was terrified that we were taking her into an active volcano after she listened to the Captain on our whale watch tour say that Haleakala is not extinct. After we finally reassured her that we were not driving her into certain doom we had a very lovely day exploring the craters.

 The colours were amazing and there was a competition pod of whales below. We had lunch and watched the helicopter tours fly by.

Maui bound

I was so proud of the kids. They snorkeled in Molokini crater for the first time. Jumping into deep water and doing their best despite being fairly uncertain. The whale watching tour was fantastic with many competition pods, calves learning to breach, and a mugging where the humpback was so close we had to cover our faces so as not to breathe in whale spray.

Adlai turns 5 and we celebrate the young man he is and all the wonderful things he does to bring joy to our family.

Thanks to my generous friend and my generous family, I was able to spend a week in the warmth of Costa Rica.
