We were at the airport in good time, happily examining the art installment that looks like swimmers overhead. Then we were boarded onto our plane. Then we waited and were unboarded. Then we waited a long time. Then we discovered there was no way home today.
So we went back to the sea side and made the best of it.
We happened upon this beach by accident while I was shopping at a funky consignment store. The light was soft and the kids made their own sunshine. It instilled joy just watching them.
Not ones to let a deal slip by, we managed to squeeze in the car museum, the air and space museum, the Japanese gardens, the science center and the natural history museum at Balboa park before we had to refuel with massive pizzas.
