Things to be happy about

 I am happy that I get to spend time with Miss Sonja, a sweet 20 something mare.

 Adlai and I were happy about the rice-krispy fish cakes we made for his party.

 Adlai and I watched the hawk in our backyard.

 And when we went for a walk we came across the resident porcupine ambling along, calmly eating weeds behind our house.

 Patrick enjoyed a big downhill ski weekend.

 Adlai took his rubber boots for a spin through the icy puddles.

Red sky at night

 We went out to the groomed trails around Bragg Creek and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A small herd of deer grazed next to us in the snow, unconcerned about our passage.

For a January day, the weather was very decent and we thanked the Chinook arch in the Western sky.

Wrong wax

Adlai is getting lots of time at task with our almost daily cross country skis. I found out the hard way what the wrong wax looks and feels like!
