Family photos with Fabi

Fabi did a lovely job taking some fun family photos nearby. This is the first year we have all purchased cowboy boots for our various horseback riding adventures.

Time with horses

I was fortunate to be able to go visit a gentle young horse with a friend and go for a ride for the first time in a long time.

 The clouds were amazing as we went for a family stroll at Glenbow Ranch Park in the late afternoon.

 The kids were happy to find this little guy watching them warily.

So much can change in the space of a short time

Adlai had his first official morning of school. Going to school was dramatic and involved many tears. However, when the doors opened up, a happy 5 year old bounced out, announcing that he liked school. Thank heavens for good teachers!

 The kids and I went to Elbow Falls for the first time since the floods. They too showed quite a change. Once we walked past the 6 foot concrete pilings of the picnic tables that were ripped out by the water, the actual river was further away and the height of the falls diminished.

 The deer watched us in the morning light.

 And only after much bribery and convincing were we able to get Adlai onto the ride that sucks you to the sides with centrifugal force.

 We rode the lift up to the top for a few fun rounds of luge.

 By the end Kaya was racing Patrick.

 Adlai met his kindergarten teacher for the first time and grudgingly posed for a photo.
