Backyard improv

Bear bear hung in there for the whole long journey home from Montana.

Once home, we enjoyed our own backyard.

The kids practiced cartwheels. It is an amazingly good core exercise.

Kaya does not feel like smiling for the photo.

Yoga board

I managed to take 5 kids on a few trips without ever tipping. A testament to the stability of the yoga board and the fact the children all stayed remarkably still.

Glacier

We took a back route into the park and ended up in a crazy construction zone with very large rocks and loose soil and earth movers. Luckily the van was able to make it.

We had a picnic lunch by the lake.

Kaya found a sedate butterfly that rested on her finger a minute later.

Our kids are becoming good little photographers.

State campground

The kids have finally accepted the foot of silt and can squish their toes through the muck to play in the water. Water levels are low this year.
A local woodpecker is not at all concerned by my stalking him for a photo.
Kaya looks on near a mosaic in town.

Whitefish mountain's Danny On Trail

We decided to take the gondola up the mountain and hike down. We stopped to watch a wildfire begin to turn into a large blaze from the lookout at the summit. On the way down we ate our fill of huckleberries and tried to make lots of noise just in case there might be a bear or two nearby. Good thing the kids had something to distract them from the fact that they were descending 2434ft over 3.8 miles. We were pretty proud that we made it down in great time.

Planes and trucks

On our way to Montana we stopped in Nanton to see the planes.

And we stopped to see the giant truck in B.C.
