Laundry drying outside becomes a tent for the kids.
Later we head to the splashpark.

Ptiching in
Patrick returns from helping to gut basements filled with mud in Bowness. The city is sold out of rubber boots.
The kids and me and Maihaa spend the day together.
On our bike ride I spot a local signpost - submerged.

Coyote in our front yard
Returning home we drove next to a young coyote who was clearly lost. He tried hiding in our garden rather unsuccessfully.
The next day we visited Ally and Zoe and Georgia and Auntie Melynda.

Kinbrook Island part 2
We had to move camping spots so we missed seeing the baby owls but we went for a walk and found many other birds. The night before a porcupine and her baby had climbed one of the trees a few feet away and we heard them grunting to one another. In the morning there was porcupine poop in the back of Chris' truck as evidence of their visit.

Many waters
It was surreal to watch our city overtaken by water. With the directive to stay home, we could only watch while the rain kept coming.

A very memorable day
We started off the morning at swimming lessons in Cochrane. I walked the dog into a marathon and wandered down to the Bow River.
Then we dropped the kids off at a party at Springbank airport and rode all the scary rides at Calaway Park.
Then it was off to Upper Lake Kananaskis.
We stopped along the highway for a mug shot of the bighorn sheep. But the most exciting part of the day was our walk with friends along the path near the campground. We came upon a mama bear and her two cubs grazing in a field right next to the path. We beat a hasty retreat and it took a while to calm our racing hearts.
I always love this lone tree in the field on the way home.
A rainbow closes the day.
